Unconfirmed student report suggests Vinnie T's requires purchase of parkng pass to avoid towing. This abrupt policy change catches students off guard.

Vinnie T's Clubhouse changed its parking rules this semester ending the free parking available during non-business hours with little warning for students. This is according to Jessica Cox, senior Human Ecology major at Tech, who approached the Oracle with this information. (0) comments

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is set for next Saturday, Oct. 17, and student involvement is needed to reach the $50,000 fundraising goal. After years of planning, the Upper Cumberland area will finally host its first Race for the Cure-rain or shine. (0) comments

Self esteem and body image are two things that can be difficult to get students interested in talking about, but the Women's Center is hosting a Love Your Body Day event at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the RUC Multipurpose Room. "An alternative fashion show featuring members of the Tech community will be the main attraction," said Kassi Thomas, WTTU personality and emcee for the event. (0) comments

Approximately 700 Tech students lose their scholarship each year. According to the Tennessee Higher Education Committee, roughly 50 percent of all Tennessee HOPE Scholarship students lose their scholarship by the end of freshman year. There are numerous ways to lose the scholarship. (0) comments

The two Tennessee Valley Authority Chairs in Tech's College of Engineering have been filled by Joseph Ojo and Glen Cunningham who will serve for the next three years. The chairs were created in 1999 through an endowment set up by TVA that supports teaching and research in electrical and mechanical engineering. (0) comments

The children and families of the Child Development Lab will be participating in a Trike-a-Thon on campus Friday to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The children are scheduled to ride their bikes and trikes around the planter in front of South Patio from 9:30 to 11:30 a. (1) comment

Nine students and two professors will travel to Montreal, Quebec, Canada, October 15 through 20, over fall break. The students are in French 3010, a French composition class at Tennessee Tech. Debbie Barnard, a French professor at Tech, has organized the trip. (1) comment
